CSIRO Electrical, plumbing and mechanical

Overview

We provide electrical, fire, plumbing and mechanical maintenance, and capital projects to CSIRO antennas that assist with large-scale global research as part of ASKAP.

We collaborated with CSIRO consulting engineers to develop a turnkey power and water solution for the Boolardy Station, supporting the CSIRO scientists based at the Murchison Radio Observatory.

This project included a reverse osmosis water treatment plant, diesel generation system and renewable energy solutions.

Following on from this, we provided maintenance services during and after the defects liability period.

Both asset and geographical diversity required Butterfields to be innovative with service delivery and risk mitigation.

With remote works delivered via regional subcontractors, Butterfields developed specific CMMS to manage and mitigate service delivery risks. These included the ability for regional contractors to report directly into the Butterfields CMMS efficiently. This also linked back to our clients’ system via API to provide our client with a single user interface to manage their operations.
